Rehabilitation Centre for Children &
Orphans (RCCO) was founded in 2006 to act as a non-profit,
child development organization. It was set up to foster
full and harmonious development of children’s
personality. The founder of RCCO has two years experience
dealing with the children whose family are the victims
of violence, trotures, murders, abduction and looting
of the so-called ‘People’s War’. RCCO,
since its inception, has been helping these children
in terms of their welfare and rehabilitation into the
society.
The
organization is registered in District Administration
Office, Kathmandu and is affiliated with Social Welfare
Council, Nepal. RCCO has been accommodating and providing
relief to children of several districts from the East
to Far West regions of Nepal. The principal aim of the
organization has been to provide food, security and
education to the conflict-hit children to grow up in
a family environment, in an atmosphere of happiness,
love and understanding. Nearly 250 children are availed
the services of RCCO-Astha Children Care Home currently
in Kathmandu and Itahara, Morang. RCCO has promoted
a Astha Children Care Home from which it has been providing
all the services to the children.
Our
vision
The vision of the
Astha Children Care Home is to become “A national
leader in providing high quality service to the conflict-hit,
orphaned, abandoned, displaced, and at-risk children
to meet their rights on quality food, education, shelter
and security”.
Our
aims
Our aim is to promote
welfare of conflict-hit, orphaned, abandoned, displaced,
and at-risk children through social protection and respect
to child rights and dignity. We would like to report
and monitor the activities in line with ‘UN’s
Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC)’.
RCCO prioritize these children to educate well so that
they can return to home and make a real impact in their
lives and contribute to their society.

Objectives
The major objectives
of RCCO-ASTHA are the following:
• To
provide services to the children, including the victims
of so-called ‘Conflict or War’ by providing
them the parental care and reformative
action,
• To impart quality education to the children
who are deprived of access to the education,
• To provide fearless environment and security
to the orphan children, and help the mentally tormented
children recover from the sufferings,
• To help orphans co-mingle and participate with
others into the society so that they can develop
themselves as responsible and respectable
citizens of the country,
• To rehabilitate children in their own villages
as a competent individuals.

The financial resources
to operate and sustain the centre are as follows:
• Funds donated by the founder members
• Membership and Renewal fee
• Sponsorship
• Donation, both monetary and in-kinds provided
by different donors
• Program funds provided by any governmental or
non-governmental, domestic and/or international
organizations, an individual or association
